Menu of the Day Recommendations: LA PORRITA their Menu del Dia is FAR superior to the average with a better choice and quality with bigger portions, a really good choice at 10€ thanks to NKC our resident reviewer for this information.

3 of us went on the 15/7/08 and have 2 very good starters, 3 solomio de ternera (best fillet steak) which came with 2 different sauces and they were really excellent. We had 6 bottles of water as we were all driving. The bill came to 76 euro plus tip and we had probably the best steaks in Alhaurin el Grande.

Tinao de Julian is a very good converted cow shed and has a terrace. This is a very good Alhaurin de la Torre Restaurant and we have been going there for 3 years.
The proprietor trained in switzerland and speaks french, german, english and of course spanish. You have to phone ahead to book and they are very busy.
Our party of 5 went on the 12/7/08 and worked through the menu. We had 5 starters, 5 mains and 2 bottles of good wine. We also had 7 bottles of water, 4 desserts, 2 coffees and 4 liquers all for 159 euro plus tip.
This was all very good cooking including the Andalusian specialities. The mains we thought were slightly smaller this time more portion controlled. Well worth a visit.

5 of us went here, we booked as we saw that quite a number of tables were pre-booked. Entrefogones is a very modern and well designed restaurant. It has been very well fitted out. The restaurant is opposite Ardiles. There were tables outside on the pavement and some tables in the bar. There were two salons and a mezzanine on the 1st floor.
All very good food. I had the Huevos and Solomillo which were both excellent. The salmon was so big that we took 65% home in a 'doggy bag' for the cats. The service was very good and friendly.

We went to the Crazy Cod on the 5th May and had a very good meal. We had top quality haddock prepared and served by two top professionals who have been in the fish and chip business for over 30 years.
There is a 10% service charge if you eating in so no tip is needed.

The best way to find it is to take the 'Low Road' out past Repsol Petrol Station to Coin and at the 4 km post, slow down and take the second dirt road on the right (no sign post).
Very Good place - modern, well laid out. Very friendly, they had a good selection of Tapas on the counter bar. There were 2 of us eating and we had:
Starters
Aguacate con Gambas
Stuffed Peppers
The Aguacate had been scraped out and then returned to their shells. Unusual and it had a splash of 1000 island sauce.
The peppers should have been stuffed with white fish but instead it was a kind of orange puree but it was a fair attempt.
Mains
Chicken
Stroganoff with rice
The chicken was a good portion but tasted of nothing much.
The regular stroganoff was pork but they volunteered to make mine of beef.
Fair to middling attempt - the beef was cut TOO small and the sauce was a bit pink.
Very Good Bottle of wine - Chinchilla from Ronda at 18.00 euro.
We also had 2 bottles of water and 2 very good coffees (black).
Both the wine and coffees were served very professionally i.e. the wine was opened at the table and I was offered the cork to see and smell.
The coffees had an extra jug of hot water with them.
Total = 62.00 euro
plus tip of 6 euro.

As usual very good food and very good service. We has super steaks and other mains. We had 2 good bottles of white at 14 euro and 1 very good bottle of red at 15 euro. The only thing was the agua con gas was warm so we had to take the dearer vichy!
