ABOUT US
For many years we independently helped animals in England.
We moved to the Costa del Sol in 1998 and helped animals whenever possible.
A few years later we moved inland and became even more aware of the plight of so many animals.
In 2006 we started as fundraisers and worked with like-minded people to help the individual Foster homes and the small Rescue Centres that look after and home animals.
Due to the volume of Stray/Abandoned animals we became more involved in 2007 rescuing and homing animals ourselves and in early 2008 we became a Registered charity: No. 29/1/07974
We do not have a rescue centre, so we try to home lost/abandoned dogs straight away and if that’s not possible then we have a small group of foster homes as well as a very kind rescue Centre that whenever possible takes in some of the dogs that come our way until we can find them a permanent home.
We are sometimes limited to the number of animals we can help, but by co-ordinating with our connections here and in Europe we are doing our part to try to reduce the amount of stray/abandoned animals and the suffering in this part of Andalucia.
Our order of priority is:
1st. We try to home animals as soon as possible via our contacts and their friends.
2nd. Foster homes play an important part as they help us by giving shelter to an animal on quick short-term bases.
3rd. We will place the animal in one of our helpful Rescue Centres.
All the animals have a health check and if applicable, they are Micro-Chipped, Vaccinated and neutered or castrated.
We also trap and neuter Ferrell cats, and return them to their feeding places.
Dogs are desperate for help as there are so many abandoned.
In Málaga province alone, around 12,000 animals are abandoned annually
It’s not possible to help everyone but we do our best to help as many animals as possible (we have homed more than 150 in 2007).
We do not receive any type of government funding and donations from the public are far and few between so to pay our vet bills and other items, we raise funds by holding events and by selling donated goods in our new Charity Shop, which is based in Alhaurin el Grande, No. 12 Plaza de la Alta, just 200mts down from the Town Hall. The shop was opened recently and it is run entirely by volunteers.
Help us to help the animals so that we can reduce the misery and death that we witness every day. Sometimes situations can be resolved with just a little help.
Our belief has always been the welfare of all animals and the care, safety and protection of them is our priority.
We are all working towards the same satisfactory end “THE ANIMALS”.
